Hammertone effect “Mother of Pearl”
The HAMMERTONE MOTHER-OF-PEARL effect is used to give every surface (wood, plastic, glass, etc.) a realistic touch of elegance through the “iridescent drops” look.
The application of the HAMMERTONE effect varnish is very simple and requires only some simple tricks during the application phase and well reproduced in the video-tutorial available below.
This makes the varnish perfect for both industrial and artisanal use, with virtually unlimited potential.
Our Hammertone effect is born from the need and the will to make the aesthetic finish the main protagonist again.
In recent years we focused mainly on strengthening the functional aspect of the varnish: for example, a finish can have great technical capabilities but we must not forget what is the most tangible element: the aesthetic aspect. In Italy we say “L’occhio vuole la sua parte”, wich translate in “The eye wants his part”.
Thanks to this new formula, we can obtain a real “Mother of Pearl” effect.

APPLICATION
BasE
Basically, after applying the pigmented base, wait about 12 hours.
Then, sand and dust the surface to remove any sanding residue.
Then, apply the pigmented intermediate coat . Obviously depending on the color applied, you get different effects.
EFFECT ACTIVATION
After overnight, without sanding in between, apply the MILKY WAY effect.
Then again apply the same varnish, but using the spray gun with little air to allow the product to come out in micro-drops instead of a nebulized form.
Wait at least 24 hours.
FiniSHING
Apply by spray a thin layer of clear 2k top finishing to fix the patina. After 12 hours you get the HAMMERTONE Effect, a fine effect, which we have conceived to make each customer’s product unique. We’ll never have two identical pieces.
We gave the varnisher the possibility to create cool products thanks to his ideas and efford.

Mother of Pearls Effect “Milky Way”
In addition to the previous effect, it’s also possible to realize the cloudy effect “not hammered”.
It’s made with the new two-component solvent-based finish ES MILKY WAY, made by Astra Vernici, used to obtain the iridescent mother of pearls effect.
This effect is called “cloudy Mother of Pearls“.
This particular “cloudy” MOTHER-OF-PEARL effect, also called “MILKY WAY” can be realized on any surface (wood, plastic, glass, etc.) to obtain an original and elegant product. With a final “iridescent clouds” look, which faithfully reproduces the real mother of pearl.

Wait 6 hours (ventilated room).
Finished effect obtained.
